I wonder if Romney will write her a check? She desperately needs it after spending 90% of her budget in Iowa.
NEW YORK -- Hillary Clinton has postponed another fundraiser with financial services executives amid heavy criticism from rival Bernie Sanders that she is too close to Wall Street.
Clinton will no longer attend an event in Boston scheduled for Friday that was to be hosted by Jonathan Lavine, managing director of Bain Capital affiliate Sankaty Advisors, sources close to the matter said.
The event has not been canceled but will now be held sometime after the New Hampshire primary, which takes place Feb. 9. It is the second such postponement in the last two weeks. The Clinton campaign last week said a New York City event that was set for Thursday with executives from investment management firm BlackRock would now be held Feb. 16th.
The postponements come after Vermont senator Sanders ripped Clinton last week for leaving Iowa to attend a fundraiser in Philadelphia with financial services executives that featured a live performance with Bon Jovi.

(14,576 posts)the highway for thousands of miles is a little less than human, I think. And his company, Bain Capital is certainly monstrous. Now, here's Clinton, going to the monsters, hand out for donations.
I'm thinking the very fact she was going to do this is a big negative, at least for me. I don't care how powerful the Clinton machine is - we've all got one vote and if we SHOW UP at the polls, the right person will be the Democratic nominee. And it WON'T be Clinton.

(50,986 posts)why did all the corporate entities align against Sanders in the days prior to the Iowa caucus?
If she were a reformer, a real one, Wall Street would know it and they wouldn't be shy about trying to stop her. It was Sanders on whom they aimed their ire and fire.
That demarcation is very telling.

(114,904 posts)Hillary Clinton is traveling the country, promising to get tough on corporate wrongdoers and shadow banks. But as she promises to crack down on investment firms that offer banking services outside the purview of traditional financial regulations, her presidential campaign is vacuuming in cash from executives at a Wall Street firm known as one of the countrys biggest shadow banks one recently fined by federal regulators for allegedly ripping off its clients.
Last week, the president of Blackstone Group, Tony James, hosted a fundraiser for Clinton. The cash flowed to the Clinton campaign just two months after the private-equity giant settled with the Securities and Exchange Commission over charges that it used so-called monitoring fees to enrich the firm at the expense of investors. Clinton accepted the money from executives at the sanctioned firm even as she has criticized the Obama administration for not punishing the perpetrators of financial crime more strenuously.
Among the investors in the Blackstone funds harmed by the scheme were major public pension systems in California, Florida and New Jersey, which hold the retirement savings of teachers, police officers, firefighters and other government workers. In all, municipal and state pension systems have committed at least $9.7 billion worth of investments in the three Blackstone funds the SEC says were hit, according to the research firm Preqin. (A top Blackstone executive said in 2010 that public employees enjoyed retirement benefits that are too generous.) Clinton has been endorsed by a number of major unions that represent public employees who rely on public pension systems for their retirement.
Spokespeople for Clinton and Blackstone did not respond to International Business Times questions about its executives support for Clinton or the SEC case.
Clinton has ties to some of the key players in the Blackstone entities targeted by the SEC. One of the specific Blackstone investment funds involved in the scheme, SEC documents say, was run by executives James and Laurence Tosi. Just two weeks after the SEC settlement, James a high-profile defender of shadow banking touted his support for Clinton.

(2,497 posts)"Affiliate" in this context has a specific meaning. These are regulated entities and cannot make (well, are not supposed to make) misleading public statements about their organization pursuant to federal law and SEC regulations. "Affiliate" in this context is a legally defined term that means, essentially, controlled by or under common control with, Bain Capital.

cancelled, um, postponed it, even if that's the cover story. It looks more to me that Bain wants to wait until after the NH primary to see if it's worth throwing money at her. Bain, not HRC, postponed it.
What's the use of owning a candidate that they fear can't win? They'll just give more money to Rubio. Any loss to Hillary from big donors is a big boost to Rubio at this point.

At 65, I am finally beginning to realize and accept that things may actually have to get worse before they can get better. Principles ARE important. They are what make us who we are. As much as I hate to say it, SCOTUS and ACA be damned -- SCOTUS is already against me, and the ACA hasn't done the job. The aphorism "it's always darkest just before the dawn" rings more true now than ever.
