BREAKING: HILLARY POSTPONES FUNDRAISER WITH BAIN CAPITAL

I wonder if Romney will write her a check? She desperately needs it after spending 90% of her budget in Iowa.

NEW YORK -- Hillary Clinton has postponed another fundraiser with financial services executives amid heavy criticism from rival Bernie Sanders that she is too close to Wall Street.

Clinton will no longer attend an event in Boston scheduled for Friday that was to be hosted by Jonathan Lavine, managing director of Bain Capital affiliate Sankaty Advisors, sources close to the matter said.

The event has not been canceled but will now be held sometime after the New Hampshire primary, which takes place Feb. 9. It is the second such postponement in the last two weeks. The Clinton campaign last week said a New York City event that was set for Thursday with executives from investment management firm BlackRock would now be held Feb. 16th.

The postponements come after Vermont senator Sanders ripped Clinton last week for leaving Iowa to attend a fundraiser in Philadelphia with financial services executives that featured a live performance with Bon Jovi.

I'm thinking the very fact she was going to do this is a big negative, at least for me. I don't care how powerful the Clinton machine is - we've all got one vote and if we SHOW UP at the polls, the right person will be the Democratic nominee. And it WON'T be Clinton.

"The uncanny valley is a hypothesis in the field of aesthetics which holds that when features look and move almost, but not exactly, like natural beings, it causes a response of revulsion among some observers. The "valley" refers to the dip in a graph of the comfort level of beings as subjects move toward a healthy, natural likeness described in a function of a subject's aesthetic acceptability. Hillary Clinton is traveling the country, promising to get tough on corporate wrongdoers and “shadow banks.” But as she promises to crack down on investment firms that offer banking services outside the purview of traditional financial regulations, her presidential campaign is vacuuming in cash from executives at a Wall Street firm known as one of the country’s biggest shadow banks — one recently fined by federal regulators for allegedly ripping off its clients.

Last week, the president of Blackstone Group, Tony James, hosted a fundraiser for Clinton. The cash flowed to the Clinton campaign just two months after the private-equity giant settled with the Securities and Exchange Commission over charges that it used so-called monitoring fees to enrich the firm at the expense of investors. Clinton accepted the money from executives at the sanctioned firm even as she has criticized the Obama administration for not punishing the perpetrators of financial crime more strenuously.

Among the investors in the Blackstone funds harmed by the scheme were major public pension systems in California, Florida and New Jersey, which hold the retirement savings of teachers, police officers, firefighters and other government workers. In all, municipal and state pension systems have committed at least $9.7 billion worth of investments in the three Blackstone funds the SEC says were hit, according to the research firm Preqin. (A top Blackstone executive said in 2010 that public employees enjoyed retirement benefits that are “too generous.”) Clinton has been endorsed by a number of major unions that represent public employees who rely on public pension systems for their retirement.

Spokespeople for Clinton and Blackstone did not respond to International Business Times questions about its executives’ support for Clinton or the SEC case.

Clinton has ties to some of the key players in the Blackstone entities targeted by the SEC. One of the specific Blackstone investment funds involved in the scheme, SEC documents say, was run by executives James and Laurence Tosi. Just two weeks after the SEC settlement, James — a high-profile defender of shadow banking — touted his support for Clinton.

"Affiliate" in this context is a legally defined term that means, essentially, controlled by or under common control with, Bain Capital.

is the company that owns IHeartRadio, formerly Clear Channel Communications, that went hog wild after Bill Clinton signed the Telecommunications Deregulation Act and bought up all the radio stations across the US, leading to the vast right-wing media monopoly we have today.

Well, whaddya know about that. Huh.

For the past 36 years except for 2012 a Clinton or a Bush has been involved
in some way in the Presidential election.

Because this is just flat-out indefensible.

Hillary Clinton is the 'Democrat' running for the presidential nomination who is with the Repuglicans on who pays the campaign bills.

On the other hand, Sen. Sanders is the real deal.

Democracy of the Billionaires
The most expensive election ever is a billionaire's playground. Unless you're Bernie Sanders.

I don't think I will be able to vote for Hillary if she does win the nomination. I am sick and tired of disingenuous politicians putting me in a position of being disingenuous with my vote.

At 65, I am finally beginning to realize and accept that things may actually have to get worse before they can get better. Principles ARE important. They are what make us who we are. As much as I hate to say it, SCOTUS and ACA be damned -- SCOTUS is already against me, and the ACA hasn't done the job. The aphorism "it's always darkest just before the dawn" rings more true now than ever.

on MSNBC yesterday that she canceled so she could campaign in NH but they did not add the fact that it was Bain Capital...........imagine that!!!!! They also implied Bernie was rolling in dough and he does not have to toil and struggle for cash since we the people just send it to him.

And they will use them to make sure they stay dug in like a tick against progress.

Attacks on our safety nets or addressing homelessness, climate change, crumbling infrastructures and institutional racism. Just a few issues nobody with a buck in it can claim they sincerely stand in opposition of.
