<...>
A well-known immigration activists decision to endorse Hillary Clinton has set off a public Twitter spat between her campaign and Bernie Sanders and even drawn in Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.
In an endorsement first reported by BuzzFeed News, DREAMer Astrid Silva said it was tempting to fall for an immigration activists wish list referring to Sanderss immigration plan but that activists owe it to our families to support a realistic and achievable approach to fixing our immigration system.
<...>
Sanderss national Latino press secretary Erika Andiola, herself a high-profile DREAMer, took a shot at the Clinton campaign and the endorsement for what she termed showcasing young activists rather than organizing with them.

Her tweet was retweeted by Bernie Sanderss official account. The Clinton campaign sent out a tweet in Silvas defense.

Sen. Harry Reid, who became friends with Silva during the fight for the DREAM Act and Obamas executive actions in recent years, also jumped in.

(10,126 posts)someone else endorses Hillary
- brings more media attention to the endorsement
- divides those who support the endorser - probably favorably to Hillary
Makes no sense. What good does it do them? I do not see a likely upside.

Clinton responded I do when asked whether she stood by Emanuel, who is a veteran of both the Obama and Clinton administrations.
He loves Chicago and I'm confident that he's going to do everything he can to get to the bottom of these issues and take whatever measures are necessary to remedy them, she told reporters Friday in Iowa, according to Bloomberg.

(12,754 posts)It's all nonsense. Does anyone decide on a candidate based on the fact that someone else endorsed them? If they do, they're probably too stupid to be trusted with voting.
