2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forum"Clinton posing as any kind of friend to Black Americans is ... absurd".
Not long ago I posted a thread about reparations to Black Americans. Mostly, I got criticized. Well, here is a view from the black community that mentions the issue and also has a lot to say about our two candidates:
"Still, Sanders is the rational candidate and Sanders' presidency may still be in Black America's interest. But until he show that he can be less dismissive on a subject near and dear to those who still have grainy plantation photos in cabinets, stories lodged in the memory of aunts being spat on in Jim Crow South, and cousins locked behind privatized prison walls for marijuana trafficking, he should be challenged. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton chauffeured hordes of Blacks and Latinos into the prison industrial complex, describing them as "super-predators" at one point. It would be ahistorical to say the term super-predators doesn't have roots in demonizing African-Americans. In many ways, Clinton posing as any kind of friend to Black Americans is as absurd as O'Malley's similar claims."

(9,865 posts)But I trust him to actually do the more for minorities than HRC. And his lack of addressing it enough pales in comparison to the real and lasting harm the Clintons did with the Welfare Reform Act and NAFTA and the Prison Reform Act. I will never understand how minorities can overlook these hugely detrimental policies and stand by her.
The immigrant detention centers that are terrifying immigrants today are modeled on Clinton's Prison Privatization.
Why are the Clintons not held accountable?

(90,347 posts)... Bern Victims and it's just not blacks.
Women, Hispanics, Poor (sans white males), LGBT all lean double digits towards Hillary and its 3 weeks until SC primary where Sanders has to close a 70% spread with 50% of the primary voters there.
The very people the revolution is supposed to be reaching out to are the ones pulling away from Sanders message IA is a tell tale...
20+ point spread in a demographic after 3 months means revolution... against his message

(79 posts)I hope you are not that delusional. AA are not easily fooled. No Sanders will not destroy Hillary in New Hampshire. It will take a lot more for AA to flee the Hillary camp. I am old enough to remember her work for children in the 1990's.
