2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI proudly stand with Nevada DREAMer Activist , Astrid Silva in her endorsement of Hillary Clinton
The formal announcement, set to come in a Univision op-ed Wednesday, comes months after Silva sat down with Clinton for a key campaign immigration event.
Silva said she made up her mind after attending a Donald Trump rally where an Army veteran friend of hers was dragged out by members of the crowd. To her, Clinton is the candidate who will fight that culture and fight for immigration, whether its a legislative overhaul or defending Obamas actions.
My dad had his stay of removal extended for a year, but I dont whats going to happen, Silva said. My parents just became grandparents, and with Secretary Clinton its about knowing Noah is going to have his grandma and grandpa.
Silva appeared at a Clinton event on May 5 of last year, where Clinton said she would support Obamas executive actions and go farther if Congress wouldnt.

Don't you ever ask yourself why out of hundreds of Democratic U.S. Reps and Senators who know Bernie for decades and know him BEST, have chosen to endorse Hillary Clinton instead? Maybe you should.

(10,437 posts)I need a leader who leads, make decisions and makes the hard tough calls....and you don't get that by railing on the House floor or the Senate floor about how unfair things are...you get that by being in the room making the decision to take out Bin Laden or sending the drones at ISIS....I love bernie to death...but he never had to be "the decider"...He speaks on the "social conscience" of america and we need that voice and those issues discussed...and of course the Bernie forum chose to ban me instead of having any level of discussions....after I dared to say bernies electable in a general election is just about zero chance when you consider how the righwing media machine will dissects him....too many bernie supporters are way to thinned skinned and want to control/censor what is said as much as any batshit crazy conservative group...so I applaud them for shirking away...really demonstrate some guts there

(99,710 posts)Just don't joke about their brutal murders. Gaddafi was still a human being. And if you're Secretary of State, you should be showing more discretion than joking about it on national television.
That's like saying John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer were human beings. I oppose the death penalty but I am not remotely sad some people are gone. Some people literally deserve to die, just not at the state's hand.

If you believe Hillary Clinton and a man responsible for the murder of 20,000,000 Jews, Roma, gays, Catholics, communists, and dissidents has anything in common with Hillary Clinton there is nothing i can do to disabuse you of that notion.

(99,710 posts)Being a hawk and killing 20,000, 000 innocent people by gas, by starvation, and by mass executions are mutually exclusive.
But, hey, what are 20,000,000 dead innocents, any way to the person who informed me , mere minutes ago, I should mourn for Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, and Muammar Gaddafi; a talking point is a talking point !

(99,710 posts)They spilled the blood of innocents. While I do not believe the state has the right to take a person's life I do not mourn their passing.
They were the innocents whose blood was spilled.
The murderer and his victim do not occupy the same moral space.
To argue the contrary is to occupy a space of moral bankruptcy.
I will leave you with this, for now.
Did the judges at Nuremberg share the same moral culpability as those they were judging?

(15,438 posts)truth. You're only interested in your own false narrative and in tearing down the Democratic front-runner who makes Republicans shake in their $400 dollar dress shoes - and that ain't Bernie.
Assuming you're intelligent, you must know this doesn't help Sanders - that is, IF he's the one you're supporting. Hard to tell these days.
At any rate, I'd choose the face on the left over the grouchy one on the right any day.

And yes, I was well aware that the Clinton campaign was trying to sell that, too, but in light of the facts, that line of attack fell flat.
The inexperience line of attack will work with Sanders - a man who didn't enjoy a steady paycheck until he became Mayor of Burlington at 40. What Sanders did before that time is unclear. I believe he was a freelance carpenter or something.

(30,250 posts)Politics may be a contact sport, but politicians learn quickly that they can't win them all. This young woman should have a little better manners, if she's indeed representing the Sanders' campaign. These kind of comments always make the candidate look bad, be it Sanders or anyone else.
