Bad news: More Republicans participated in Iowa than Democrats

This is what concerns me: In Iowa, there were more republicans participating than democrats. By 15,000+!

We need to be able to get the vote out come the general election. There are more democrats than republicans, but will they vote? Trump is energizing the Republican field.

Republicans: 186,874
Democrats: 171,109

And the republican race was more interesting than the Democratic race. So there might be people that voted for Obama last time voting in the republican race this time for whatever reason.

Cruz also did a good job of getting the fundies out. That could be concerning.

Even if he does motivate fundies, in a GE he's their weakest bet.

Things aren't always as straightforward as it might seem.

I was heading to my caucus site on my way home from work and drove past a repuke caucus spot and I can tell you that the police were directing traffic into the parking lot, the McDonalds lot across the street was full and numerous people were walking. So judging by that one site, I'd say that they came out in droves.
But I live in a part of town that is working class and we had over 200 people at our site as well. So I think that in November, we working stiffs will come out to vote in huge numbers, especially now that people are waking up and realizing that the repukes are stone cold crazy.

But it wouldn't be at all surprising if they had it at a gun shop in some rural area, particularly in Western Iowa, which is almost another state.

I don't know where people got the idea that this election would be a cakewalk for us. Holding the WH after 8 years is very rare.

There were many many more candidates on the republican side, which leads to larger turnout b/c sheer force of number of people trying to GOTV.
