you can be like the Repubs and merely re-brand the same old crap, or better yet, RENAME the program with a name that belies its true nature...
this 'evolution' of the Democratic Party away from its roots, the assimilation of center-right agendas, the promotion of RepublicanLite candidates, the tying itself to the same big-money interests as the Repubs (thereby acquiescing all control and power to those interests), etc. has gone on way too long...
it will take a revolution to reverse the evolution...and at least it seems like there is more than just loose talk about making things change...
we are living in an exciting time...beyond merely interesting...and maybe the last opportunity for a long time that progressives have to correct this path the country is on...

I don't think she would.

(12,647 posts)and have often asked the very same question. How could a dominant, First Way Democratic party turn the levers of control over to a southern faction of conservative Democrats, who boasted of being New Democrats with a Third Way direction for the party. Hillary, the abuela of the Third Way, sports a campaign logo with a red arrow pointing to the right, and reflects the very essence of the Third Way direction. Onward ho, to the right the Third Way drags we fucking retards, kicking and screaming. That is, until Bernie.
There has been a festering schism growing in the Democratic party since the Third Way wrested control, and Bernie understands and agrees with our growing anger and frustrations. How the battle for the soul of the party plays out, is anybody's guess at this point. I hope to see a First Way Democrat back in control and heading in a more Democratic direction.
The irony of ironies? Once we nominate a candidate for the general election, TOS states we cannot encourage voting for a third party. If Hillary wins the nod, we will be required to support a Third Way candidate.
If Bernie wins, I guess I'll continue hanging around.
