Clinton spent $13,000,000 to win 5 delegates

"Clinton pulled in more than $28 million and spent an estimated $24.8 million, for a burn rate of about 88.7 percent"

"But Sanders only spent an estimated $11.6 million -- less than one out of every two dollars he raised"

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/10/01/hillary-clinton-spent-roughly-90-percent-of-the-money-she-raised-over-the-summer/

So Clinton spent $13,000,000 more in Iowa and won 5 more delegates.

That's more than $2,000,000 per delegate.

I hope that all of those lobbyists think that was money well spent.

How many gained by toss of coin. Her billionaire supporters will give her more money. Bernie means getting off the gravy train and they don't intend to let that happen.

that cost her:

- her media dominance
- her momentum narrative
- 90% of the money she raised last summer
- 13,000,000 more than Sanders

It's a loss by almost any metric, except in national delegates where it's a tie.

In other words it's a loss.

She's the politician my dad's democrats warned me about. FDR and JFK would are rolling over in their graves. She makes Jimmy Carter cry.

bernie did get more bang for his buck. But. Clinton loss would have worse for her than simply losing delegates.

12. Iowa was a must win for Sanders

Sanders is only polling well in four states where the voting population is 90+% and if Sanders can not win in Iowa then he is in trouble in South Carolina and the Super Tuesday states http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2016/02/01/iowa_caucus_stakes_for_hillary_clinton_and_bernie_sanders.html

For Bernie, meanwhile, a Hillary victory would be an undeniable blow. With the exception of New Hampshire and his home state of Vermont, the Hawkeye State—with a Democratic electorate that skews white and liberal—represents the friendliest terrain on the map for Sanders. If Bernie can’t win in Iowa, Clinton and her allies will have no problem brushing off a Sanders win in New Hampshire next week as little more than the result of the senator being a near-native son in the Granite State. Sanders, then, would be in need of a win elsewhere to reset the race—and soon—but won’t have any obvious place to turn.

South Carolina and Super Tuesday will be fun
