Related: About this forumA Big Hearty Hug to EllenG - Your Support of Martin O'Malley was Epic!
I hope all DU'ers can agree...
Hearing news of the campaign being suspended can't be welcome, but hope you know your efforts on this board and no doubt elsewhere were heard far and wide.
You done great and always were stepping up to the plate to bat for your candidate.
Great job, all my respect and much kudos your way!!!

on edit, please note any other notables who were supporting O'Malley -- heard many notes about BigTree and others -- they all deserve our love and admiration

ScreamingMeemie
(68,918 posts)to find I am not a big supporter of either remaining Dem...yet, but your sigline? That will make it be impossible for you to come close. In fact any sigline that refers to whatever that dustup was makes it impossible for one to emulate elleng's class when posting.
Again, I mean that in the spirit of friendship.
MrMickeysMom
(20,453 posts)ScreamingMeemie
(68,918 posts)...I didn't know that poster well (I tend to avoid the drama on DU), and the battling siglines reminds me of high school. The calls to jury on both Hillary and Bernie supporter posts tend to be littered with those bug siglines.
That's what I'm saying. I tried to hang out here on Iowa caucus night because, as jaded as I am, I still enjoy the scene. It wasn't so very enjoyable this evening, and the supporters of both remaining candidates (at least those who speak loudest here) make it hard for me to like their candidate. That is as honest as I can be. elleng did an amazing job at keeping her cool.
MrMickeysMom
(20,453 posts)I guess it's the bugs that bug you.
The bugs, by the way may have been stirred up by me. When a certain DU poster was treated to a boot out of DU, and he used a crawling bug in his sig line, then I generated bugs in a tribute thread to him. This thread got pretty big and before you knew it, there were bugs being smashed. I simply made a "smash proof" flyswatter.
I guess that bugged you.

(3,431 posts)had to do that, because he was certainly #2 for me
on the list. Not only that, he had really offered very
good proposals.
However, don't give up! He is young enough to try
again. Also, I think he has other political potential.

(86,775 posts)I am impress with your diligence, you have done your best to campaign for this candidate. I like him and do see a bright future in DC for him and he said he was done acting as a public servant. That's one of the things I like about him, that he understands that all elected officials are public servants. And he made a point about it in his speech tonight.
I think we should start referring to the elected only as public servants rather than using the word "official(s)" from now on to remind them and the rest of us of their obligations.
And I say this to all his supporters with great respect and admiration. Fortunately, we haven't seen the last of Mr. O'Malley.
