4. Thanks for the heads up - here is a link to the video

Mitchell was not so much as rude, but she had the questions she wanted to ask. Many were framed from the Romney point of view - which is not really a big deal here - because it gave Kerry an excellent opportunity to counter them.

On Israel and Iran, she gave him the space to completely destroy Romney's position - showing that Netanyahu praised Obama's UN speech and agrees with it. He also concisely explained Obama's position. He concluded by saying that Romney.s "throw Israel under the bus" was a lie - and that like when he spoke prematurely on Libya, he was inappropriate.

On Libya, she did speak over him - though he later countered her. She was trying to make something of the SFRC sending a letter asking questions on Benghazie. He said that it was a normal part of what the State Department was already doing. (I don't get her comment that the FBI was not used - I assume that the CIA and others may know more about the people involved.)

There also were the stupid questions on debate expectations. Kerry played the game of raising expectations about Romney, but he seemed less passionately involved than when speaking of real issues. (That was where the media comment was. I think her annoyance was that he avoided saying ANYTHING at all about Obama practicing - and that was likely what she thought the biggest story - unless she could spin the SRFC's request against Obama. To me that really failed when Kerry spoke of how the committee knew the ambassador, who once worked for Lugar as committee staff. His condemnation of anyone using this for politics sounded to me like a plea for decency and very sincere -- and disgusted with the politics.

I didn't want to watch the vid with Mitchell..sorry, she makes my skin crawl and I haven't seen her in years. Want to keep it that way.

Thank you! Sounds like Senator Kerry did WELL!

7. She's more dangerous than that

She is very condescending and because of her status as a long time "serious" reporter who is married to Alan Greenspan, she can appear to be an independent expert - unlike the overtly obvious RW talking heads, her rudeness is not obvious to a casual observer. She was rude to speak over the Senator after she finished her question and saw that he was disputing her frame. (I think she was annoyed that he, while playing the lower expectations on your side and raise them on the other, clearly signaled that he thought this was a silly media game.)

That said, Kerry handles her better than any Democrat I can think of. He has the class and obvious substance to counter her rudeness with his natural gentlemanly behavior, focusing on getting his (Obama's) message out.

The Remoblicans cheated then, of course, and stole the presidency again.

I always think of Kerry and Gore as being our elected presidents who never got inaugurated. That's what coup d'etats are, I guess.

8. She's a liberal who does her best to try to appear "down the middle"

even to the point of it being annoying. I remember Matthews basically got her to admit it on air, I think during the R convention, that she thought Republicans were full of shit and she came back with the "we're supposed to be objective, blah blah blah" shit.

I hate that.
