(13,685 posts)That the elites are the royalty and the rest of us should just STFU.
However, We the people have not yet voted. When we do and H is defeated, what will you do?

(39,451 posts)The crap that has come out of her campaign has really turned me off.
I will vote for her if she is our nominee only because of the supreme court, women's rights....but I will vote for her with a heavy heart.

(4,558 posts)and have nothing but good things to say about him. I likewise think that Sanders will lend his backing and support to Hillary. It is more likely that Sanders will address his supporters with regards to her nomination than she will.
I likewise fully expect the same kind of reaction from Hillary should Sanders win.
When they are in the room with each other they don't go at each other like those of us who support them have been. I believe that either will be a class act upon losing the nomination.

(10,650 posts)Sanders will say what Sanders wants to say. That doesn't make it what Hillary says. The question is what will she say.
Vinca
(50,273 posts)as she veers back to the right and drops the talking points she adopted to compete with Bernie?
BillZBubb
(10,650 posts)but her supporters will stick with her. They are already the center and right of the Democratic party.
BillZBubb
(10,650 posts)But she won't make any policy changes to win that support.
For Bernie's supporters it will be a lesser of two evils election. I suspect they will have little enthusiasm for Hillary, made worse as she tacks right going into the election. But the republicans will nominate a right wing loon. That should pick her up a good percentage of Bernie's supporters.

(10,650 posts)I just don't see the younger voters that Sanders is attracting being motivated enough to vote for Hillary in the general election.
But that won't lose her the election. If she loses it will be because the independent voters rejected her in favor of whatever loon the republicans throw up against her. That has to be the bigger fear.

(11,546 posts)will do that, some will hold their noses, and some are more to the left than the Dems are and will vote accordingly or just not vote for President.

(12,754 posts)Is what Hillary's supporters will say after she gives her inspirational inauguration speech and then starts backtracking on everything she promised, loading up her cabinet with Wall Street crooks and corporate goons. How long will they make excuses for her, fending off buyer's remorse.

You may be surprised, though, at who Bernie would pick, since the Democratic rolodex has the same names no matter who is in the White House...

(10,650 posts)Her supporters know where she stands on economic issues. She's aligned with the corporatist economic view. Her cabinet will reflect that.

(3,687 posts)the DNC has made it very clear that they are preparing for 'Anybody But Bernie" even if they have to bring in another Billionaire or recycle a previous loser. And they are prepared to lose the election to do it.

I don't want that scenario for the first woman president. Just. No.
I'm for the Jewish guy first, and then immediately begin the search for a woman who is known for bringing people together...not sparring with them. However, if there isn't one, oh well. The Presidency is not a gender race. It's for all of us.

Sorry but this is bullshit. I didn't sit and wait for Obama to send me a memo when he won in 2008. I was an ADULT and and didn't need him to address me. Nor did I need sit and wait for Hillary to tell me what to do.
I'm not a fucking child. I don't expect a piece of candy of my ass to be kissed. I pulled up my jock and threw my support to Obama in 2008. As did Hillary. As I will do if Bernie wins the nomination.

(2,437 posts)This will be an enthusiasm election. I don't see Hillary gaining any new supporters. People will vote, but not in high numbers.
She turned off a lot of possible supporters with her "single payer will never, ever happen.
She's an establishment Democrat in an anti-establishment world.
