Former Maryland Governor and Democratic Presidential hopeful Martin O’Malley’s kids are a part of this generation and we interviewed them to try and get a grasp on what is important to this enormous group of potential voters and to get their reaction to Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.

“The big news from the O’Malley camp is that we really could not care less,” said 18-year-old William O’Malley of Clinton’s email woes. “That is something for Secretary Clinton and her lawyers to figure out. I am proud of just how positive my dad’s been his entire campaign.

“He’s just focused on the issues.”

Tara O’Malley, 23, channeled her father’s progressive message.

“Climate change is one of the major issues for millennials today,” she said.

She says she is concerned about what will happen if climate change is ignored.

“It is going to get worse if nothing is done about it, if we don’t take action,” she said.

William says college debt is his top issue. Pointing to his sisters, he said “these two racked up a lot of student debt. Our family has learned from experience."

“We want to make sure that other families dealing with this issue can send their children to college,” he said.

Grace O’Malley, 24, says this generation of voters is becoming more forceful in politics.

“I think millennials voters are becoming better advocates for themselves,” she said. “I feel like social issues are huge for millennials.”
