(2,142 posts)Love it.
I feel more strongly & passionately, and have more hope, regarding Bernie Sanders than I have with any other candidate in my voting history.

(14,524 posts)Not since Bobby Kennedy have I had the real hope that we could finally turn this around like I do when I speak with the People in OUR Revolution. Bernie gives us voice.

Edit: found it
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

(27,247 posts)remember that election was stolen from him. More American voters wanted him than bu$h.
And he gladly signed the Kyoto Protocol, which was supposed to reduce greenhouse gases, among other things.
And he talked about a "lockbox" for Social Security funds to keep them out of the hands of greedy Republicans and others who wanted to steal from the cookie jar..

(68,918 posts)is why I cannot stand the vocal supporters of both candidates.
While I don't particularly like the optimistic memes that are posted in support of both candidates (I gave up on hope and happiness a long time ago--it's bullshit), everyone should be sickened over what happened to Dean (which happens to be the last time I actually believed in a candidate)... I can't believe people who are supposed to believe in the same party platform that I do resort to this kind of crap.
It is one of the reasons why the party gets not a dime from me
It is one of the reasons why I only show up in the GD: Primaries when I'm called to jury
It is ridiculous
It is petty
We're better than this stupidity... or at least, I thought we were.
Now that I've got that off my chest, back to the "sanity" that is GD Reg... and babies crying in restaurants.

And I'm with you... I'm to the point now where I believe that relying on hope and words alone is a fool's errand.
Still, I do sometimes envy people who brim with belief in the infallibility of people or institutions. But then I remember that feeling that way inevitably means you will be let down at some point. It's not to say that I'm pessimistic -- just older, I guess.

I believe in Bernie Sanders.

(14,626 posts)As a teen and then a young adult I kept asking my parents why can't things change in this country and they responded that they themselves did what was within their power. They understood that the elites have been running everything in this country for decades for their own benefit, and short changing everyone else.
Bernie certainly represents a new hope, way beyond the typical political campaign hoopla.
It is something that the campaign hoopla will never be able to touch or duplicate.
Bernie is on fire.

It really just does not apply in this instance. OMG if we said things like that about President Obama we'd be shredded. LOL. This is pathetic.
