Standing With Gabby Giffords, Clinton asks Iowans to make guns a voting issue

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN)Hillary Clinton urged voters Saturday to make gun control a key issue in the Iowa caucuses, pledging to take on the issue at an event where former Rep. Gabby Giffords endorsed the former secretary of state.

Giffords, the Arizona Democrat who was shot in the head during an appearance in front of a Tucson supermarket in 2011, called Clinton a "tough" and "courageous" candidate and pledged her support because Clinton "will stand up to the gun lobby."

"Speaking is hard for me," Giffords said, a nod to the fact that she is still recovering from the near-fatal shooting. "But in January 2017, I want to see these words, 'Madame President.'"

I think that it was signing NAFTA that did the most damage, though.

That woman does not want a Democratic majority to work with.

Are you suggesting a woman who was shot in the head, nearly killed, and will have neurological deficits for the rest of her life should feel differently about guns?

Thank you in advance.

Respectfully,

P.S. We are never going to be outdo the Republicans in garnering the affection of 2nd Amendment absolutists.

9. I'm more concerned about 'free' trade than I am about gun control. Gun control is at the very bottom

of my list of priorities. I could care less about that issue, one way or another, except to the point that I don't want the issue to alienate potential voters.

The Democratic party is never going to win the affection of those who believe they have an unalienable right to own their own Uzi.

folks are more densely packed so that guns are dangerous to bystanders. I support gun laws that take both types of people into account. And the AWB should stay dead, because that horribly written law (and 'free' trade) helped to knock Democrats out of power after a generation of being in the majority.

16. The data indicates the further one is from the city the less likely he or she is to be a Democrat.

I neither want to ignore or punish those people, of course, but we can win without them.

Ironically they've been illegal for 10 years longer than they've existed.
