Kos: Obama Campaign Flirts with Playing for Arizona - Head Fake or Real?

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/09/26/1136774/-Head-fake-or-real-Obama-campaign-flirts-with-playing-for-Arizona

I think it's real. The news is simply too good today. It feels like something welling up inside, and across the nation.

A mid-September poll by Purple Strategies gave Romney a narrow 48-45 lead over Pres. Barack Obama, but that poll, by Republican Alex Castellanos' outfit, is untested and quite frankly, erratic. I wouldn't bet anything on it.

But apparently the Obama campaign is seeing something they like, because they're flirting with engaging.

This year, Obama's team talked early on about running in Arizona, which offers 11 electoral votes, but it never did. Now, with an internal Democratic poll showing Obama narrowly leading Romney, Obama's team might make a play for the state that has seen a 160,000 increase in voter registrations by Democratic-leaning Hispanics over the past four years.
Buying television time in Phoenix, the state's largest city, is expensive and Obama advisers are closely watching their finances

Just because I've lived in a Red State and they tend to be ignored. I know the progressives in those states would LOVE to see the Prez or someone close to the campaign more often. And wouldn't that be awesome if AZ was in the running?

It could be just a ploy to cause the GOP to waste resources.

In WW2, the Allies went to great trouble to convince the Germans that the invasion was coming anywhere, but where it did. For example, Hitler fell for one ploy and moved 90,000 troops to Sicily just before the invasion.

That was quite a mistake on Hitler's part indeed! Sicily was cleared of all German troops by August 1943.

The allies did before landing at Normandy. They had Hitler convinced the landings would happen at the Pas de Calais, the shortest distance between Britain and France. They even stationed Patton opposite that landing point to give credibility to the landings there. Hitler was so convinced that Normandy was the actual feint that he kept the main forces in Pas de Calais 6 crucial days after the first landings at Normandy including the powerful 21st Panzer division. Just sayin

the last i heard our candidate was beating the republican candidate for Kyle's seat... he's retiring, and this would be a pick up seat for us.. this is very similar to where North Carolina was 4 years ago... spend some money now, and let the demographics do the rest... First Arizona, then Texas.. start this cycle on Arizona
