...begins with a single step.

As does the journey of one mile.

It is up to us to decide which journey we will aim for.

But the relay involved in arriving at your destination successfully depends on many other factors. Like legislation.

I honestly fear "the cart before the horse" is dangerous to ever achieving single payer or even completing one leg of the journey to single payer. And given that the country so opposes tax increases and is unaccustomed to the idea of single payer owing to so many poor people, the chances of this passing without a veto proof Congress is unlikely.

Here are other questions. Will there be a Bupa (private option) as with Great Britain? https://www.bupa.com/corporate

What will happen to the people in the health insurance industry? How many are there in that industry who would lose jobs? And will they be part of the new single payer system in some way?

All of these questions ought to be discussed during the primary.

Congress truly does need to be cleaned out and replaced with people who will work for PEOPLE.

But tackling this way makes me fear that a Republican will win the White House over the fears and trumped up charges by the industry. If that happens, no single payer, and "Hello Vouchers".
