Related: About this forumBernie yesterday: Clinton "far superior" to republican candidates
It would be nice if this killed the stupid, pernicious rumors that Bernie, if he loses the primary, would run as an independent.
<snip>
Mr. Sanders said he intended to win, but noted that Mrs. Clinton would be better than a Republican in the White House.
I would be most comfortable with me as president, Mr. Sanders said. But, if the choice is between right-wing Republicans who want to cut Social Security, voucherize Medicare, make massive cuts in Medicaid, give huge tax breaks to billionaires and refuse to even acknowledge the reality of climate change, the choice between those candidates and Hillary Clinton is pretty obvious. She is the far superior candidate.

(114,904 posts)You are making shit up. Go to any site where his supporters congrgate, like kos, reddit or du. You will not find calls for him to run independently. His not being a spoiler is popular with his supporters.

(20,709 posts)You're saying people have such blind allegiance to Manny that they just hit the rec button without even reading?
Also kind of curious that someone who advocates helping the GOP -- precisely the opposite of what Bernie said, would be so popular with Bernie fans. Wouldn't they pick a better hero?

Good on Sanders.

(13,877 posts)I just wish Hillary would say the same thing. I remember PUMA way too well. Not saying she'll do that this time...as it did not work...but it would be very Democratic Party Polite of her to respond in kind.

(1,061 posts)That is probably what's funny.
To think she'd prefer an anti-establishment candidate to an establishment Republican might be cause for laughter as well.

(23,664 posts)At least with one of the republican candidates you pretty well know they will give the store away to the .01%.
With the Clintons, well, you know it too, but you always hope they might actually do the right thing, even though they never have in the past.

(30,481 posts)Which republican running would you put above Clinton. This should be fun. lol.
