When they booed Paul Ryan at the American Association of Retired Persons last week, most people didn't even know he called Medicare and Social Security "third party or socialist-based systems." Or that he said he wants to privatize them in order to "break the back" of a "collectivist philosophy."

On recently transcribed remarks from an audio recording, Ryan said his ideas and values were shaped by an extremist author who thought humanity must "reject the morality of altruism," and that his opinions on monetary policy are guided by a fictional speech which says "the words 'to make money' hold the essence of human morality."

That author says the "collectivist philosophy" Ryan ascribes to Social Security and Medicare is a "looters' credo." By that reckoning, anyone who receives assistance from the government -- including disabled combat veterans or impoverished children -- is a "looter."

"Seniors are looters." Wonder how that would have gone over at the AARP? "Disabled veterans are looters." How would that play at the local VFW?

18. Even Ayn Rand gave her stamp of approval to Social Security by

accepting payouts from Social Security in her final years. So she must have changed her mind in her later years and approved of Social Security or she wouldn't have taken the money from the government. She was so poor that Social Security made a difference in her later life. Where were all those filthy rich people when she was so desperate for some cash? Where were all those uber rich thieves and murderers she admired and held out to society as heroes? Why didn't they help her survive in her old age so she wouldn't need to take Social Security?

Ryan should also point out that his philosophy believes there is NO GOD. I think the Christian Right should understand that Ayn Rand and company all hate the idea of a GOD.

13. The article is worth reading. Ryan spoke at a celebration of Ayn Rand in 2005. Hard to say

whether the tape will be released or even whether it still exists.

10. Let's keep in mind social security is a separate program

Social security is paid for by workers and is not a part of debt or deficit, it's it's own program. It is a secure program that repukicants want voters to think it needs to be modified & it doesn't! Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont says it best!
