Mitt Romney Readies His Presidential Transition Team

It would appear the election is over in the mind of Mitt Romney. News today tells us that the Romney transition team is getting in place and his administration will be up and running soon. This level of delusion is about one step away from Romney wandering the street in a bath robe

11. I'm Really Concerned -I Read The Article At This Link And Have Two Reflections & A Comment.....

Reflection One: Rmoney seems too confident that he's got this in the bag and that worries me. What does he know? Was he given assurances that this election will be bought and paid for and stolen for him? Even though he's had a number bad weeks and is losing ground in the polls - he still thinks he's tied with the President. I'm just very suspicious as to what they are planning in these last 40 or so days.

Reflection Two: If you read this article at the politico link - two observations - the person leading his transition team is a Mormon and there the transition team is heavily loaded with former Bushco people.

Comment: This article at Politico - link provided about in post #5 should be circulated and people should know that this transition team is working with solid actions that would be initiated should Rmoney win. Yet when anyone tries to pin down Rmoney as to what he will be doing and what his plans are for his presidency - he always talks in generalities and doesn't really say anything or he just evades the question. I think that if he wants to be president he has to tell the American People what he will be doing. His transition team has those answers why isn't he sharing that with us? If he is elected he will be a president that we know very little about - with respect to his taxes, his real feelings on all sorts of issues and what he will do if elected. How can we let this guy even close to the White House?

His "transition" team should be working on what they will all do with lots of free time come Nov.

Campaigns do this earlier than you think. For one thing, you need the time. For another, it helps build support. This is standard operating procedure. This is not an indication of confidence or delusion.

I do think the need to announce it is another attempt to portray "inevitability" and to "turn the tide."

We just need to double down, focus downticket and GOTV.

The process — which used to begin officially following Election Day — has started in earnest in part because of a change in the law that sets aside government money in order to ensure an incoming administration is prepared as soon as it takes over the keys to the West Wing. The Pre-Election Presidential Transition Act of 2010 formalized a process for campaigns to begin planning before the election, with the General Services Administration providing office space and other resources for the campaign.
