I don't think the proportion of good guys to bad guys in the police is a much different than other professions. The salient difference is in most other professions the bad guys don't have guns and can't deprive you of your liberty.

Also excellent union jobs. The problem is that most of them also appear to be willing to lie for their brothers. Cover things up if need be. That is what must stop. Seems to me it is more human nature than anything. They need to be independently investigated. Complete independence.

People who depend on each other for their lives, often struggle with what they perceive as breach of loyalty.

The reason they can't be the full part, who gets to review the footage. If it is internal, the meat of the problem has been addressed in no way.

It gets awkward though with questions like do you let the officer turn them off? If not, how does that work with bathroom breaks, or incidents where extreme sensitivity is required? Also how secure is the data, and in the case of a breach could the police be liable for the exposure of sensitive footage of innocent people etc etc.

I worked with hundreds of law enforcement officers at my previous job. The majority were fair, decent people.

Most I know personally are counting days to retirement due to the current atmosphere (both with their administrations and the public) and stress/burnout or looking for other LE jobs where they don't respond to situations like regular cops do, like wildlife officers, etc.

Bernie that the vast majority of people agree with? I think the "attitude" you refer to relates to isolated specific instances, like Eric Garner.

The policies and training poloce get today, combined with the perpetual war footing they are on and the increasingly militarization of the police has lead to the violence and agression we see today. I don't think a majority of cops want to be thugs, but are taught to br thugs and convinved that is the right and proper way to conduct the business of law enforcement.

The police in my local area are fair and don't have a reputation for harassing or killing the local citizens. But we've also witnessed police brutality in this country, our entire lives. I know the African American communities in particular are outraged over the brutality committed by their local police, they have voiced their outrage here, and rightly so.

I think you insult us all when you snidely remark "not the attitude I tend to see here" as a means to insult Bernie supporters, but you are also insulting Hillary supporters who have also voiced their concerns about police murdering American citizens with impunity.

You seem to step in it often, brooklynite.
