It looks like you have two swords and one knife? Can you explain the lengths? I assume the longer sword is a samurai sword? Yes? And the shorter one? Did it have a different purpose? Was it made for women, perhaps?

They scare me because I've seen what they can do. Just don't unsheath one around me because I'll take off.

Bow.

Btw, one of those is not so little. These things are impressive.

Many Katana on line are made in CHINA...so the quality is not that good. The ones I have are from Japan, made by apprentices of the Masters. (Master Blades are not allowed to leave Japan, its the law there now. All Master made blades are considered a Work of Art and must stay in Japan, including those given away by the Prime Minister or the Emperor. IF someone tells you they have a blade made by a master blade maker in Japan, they are lying. Only apprentice blades are allowed to leave the country...and thats because of slight imperfections.)

The lady is quite correct: a Master's blade is a cultural treasure and a work of art.
They have elevated blade-making WAY above the level of a craft.
The literal blood, sweat and tears that goes into the making of these is breathtaking.
Thanks for sharing, Yoshidasan.
