On Sunday, Tropical Storm Lionrock was located off of Japan's southwest coast while Tropical Storm Kompasu was well to the north near Hokkaido Island. In between was Tropical Storm Mindulle, which strengthened into a typhoon early Monday morning, local time, and is expected to be the most impactful storm for Japan in the near-term.
