Just feeling pretty low tonight

A year ago my darling was home from the hospital. He was only home for just under 2 months that last year. Over there was the hospital bed flanked by the bipap machine and the oxygen concentrator .. the hoyer looming like a crane next and the big oxygen tanks, and the chair lined up against the hall for the trips to dialysis...

It all seemed so hard at the time, and I guess it was. But I could have kept the routine going for years. Unfortunately he couldn't.

The shows we used to watch together with chuckles and snark are still on.. the comments still spring to my lips but are shared only with the dog.

This was the last picture.

That's our Molly lying next to him.
I miss him so much

It comes and goes. I don't know why or when it will hit me again. Maybe it's the long nights...

Remember to keep in mind the good times you had. The places you went. The friends you still have.

That photo is so very poignant.

While my mother was dying at home under hospice care, one of her kitties had placed her paw on my mother's foot. After she died and my brother and I had left the room, I later glanced in and saw that her other kitty was now laying right up against her body. Mom looked like she was sleeping, and this little kitty was obviously watching over her. They all have souls.

May your husband's love abide with you during these difficult times. I am glad you still have Molly.

I know how it goes, well at least as it pertains to a parent. Never a spouse.
Please take care of you. Someday the happiest of memories will outshine the sadness.

the distractions of the day have softened the pain.. It does come and go.

I think the difference with a spouse is that, while, you live with the parents that fate has assigned you. A spouse is chosen.
