The tree was just giving the house a hug to calm it down during the storm. Hermit-The-Prog Jan 2024 #1

MANY inches of rain and more on the way. Damn high winds, saturated ground, trees down and/or wind, severe cold, snow.

YUCK!

When they came home from work due to a tree bringing down power lines and a utility pole. There was a police car stuck inside our development so they probably cleared it faster than they would have. The entrance to the development was blocked about 6 hrs. Our electricity was out 9 hrs. I checked PulsePoint and at one time they had 60 electrical emergencies in an hour for New Castle County. This morning DelDOT posted a list of 47 NCC roads that were still closed.

Both daughter and son ended up spending the night at our son’s fiancé’s house across town.

I hope you faired well in your neck of the woods.

Ever since a tree came down on our house during Sandy, I get really uncomfortable when we have heavy winds or the ground is ultra saturated.

My power only went out for a few minutes I charged up my little extra battery just to charge the phone if necessary. But I went to the grocery store a couple blocks away this morning and it was closed due to a power outage. And I drove by a high school that looked closed. So I guess we were lucky. Right here. Delmarva power sent a notice with the link to the power outage reporting number
