cutoff low lingering off the california coast for days has finaly come on shore and is exiting the state according to my models .
A closed upper-level low which has become completely displaced (cut off) from basic westerly current, and moves independently of that current. Cutoff lows may remain nearly stationary for days, or on occasion may move westward opposite to the prevailing flow aloft (i.e., retrogression). looses its steering current.raining hard on roof of my apartment building right now . can hear it or either hail. the nws said we had a chance of mixed precip. supposed to be out of here by to mrrow .
