Atheists & Agnostics
Related: About this forumI found a very good episode of ST:DS9
Season 1, episode 19: "In the Hands of the Prophets." It has a similarity with the ID/Creationist movements.
If you have Netflix, you can watch it streaming.

(14,860 posts)The Bajoran gods actually exist, interact with the Bajorans, and literally exert their influence to make things go their way. Their prophecies always come true and there's no rational reason to doubt the Prophets, their power, or their prophecies.
The argument in that episode, while presented in terms of the ongoing science vs. religion "debate," is more akin to Catholics getting pissed off that someone saying "Joseph Ratzinger lives in a big house in Italy" rather than "His Holiness the Pope lives in the Apostolic Palace inside Vatican City."

I miss DS9. Major Kyra Norisse was totally cool and real and flawed and wonderful. Great characters. Best TV ever.
