I was torn whether to post this video here, or in R&T. One of my granddaughters sent me the link in a Fb message. Since her dad and his family are quite pious, I guess she didn't think she should post it on her Fb status.

(535 posts)is that if you post some stuff on the Religion group, they get angry, complain, and whine.
Here we just laugh, or smile.
By the way, I don't see Woody Allen as anything admirable other than as a film maker artist guy, the rest of his life, nope, can't buy in.

(12,153 posts)I was torn between posting it here, or in R&T. No way would I be brave enough to post it there.
In some ways I like Woody Allen too. Regardless, I get a kick out of imagining a Woody Allen Jesus. If Christians could do that, there might be fewer of them. I think a lot of them picture Jesus as, and are in love with, Jeff Hunter Jesus.
EDIT: Didn't mean to click to post yet.

(9,356 posts)For those of you with real lives who didn't catch it - the blue-eyed, blond Jeffrey Hunter played JC in the 1961 version of "King of Kings."
He looked so young that the flick became known as - "I Was a Teen-Age Jesus." (Hunter was actually 34 years old in 1961, or one year older than the allegedly real JC when he got nailed.)
Boo!

(12,153 posts)became a Jeff Hunter "Christian" for a while. Just look at the photo of him you posted. Even while being crucified he was adorable. Jeff Hunter died young - in his very early 40s, I think. I think he had a stroke, fell down some stairs and died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
I really do think some Christians have crushes on Jeff Hunter Jesus, or one they find just as attractive. I can't imagine a lot of hoopla over a Woody Allen Jesus.

Mr Hunter is actually in one of my fave films... a very good but in a strange way disturbing, John Wayne film. And I usually don't care for John Wayne. Anyway, it's a Western called
"The Searchers"

(9,356 posts)Tomorrow, Sunday, 8 April - some kind of holiday for some people, I think - Turner Classic Movies is showing the Jeff Hunter "King of Kings."
Starts at 6 PM here in the Pacific Time Zone. Runs until 9 PM.
Weird Fact: according to Wikipedia, an uncredited scriptwriter on "KoK" was Ray Bradbury. Make up your own science fiction joke!
Weird II: also tomorrow night, in the middle of all the Easter movie hoopla, TCM is showing the 1943 movie "Day of Wrath," about 17th-century witchcraft hysteria in Denmark.

(12,153 posts)a Jeff Hunter Jesus fix. Ray Bradbury had a hand in writing KoK? Interesting!
Day of Wrath will be a goody too. If it's got torture and killing in it, it'll be a perfect movie for Easter.
