Nikki Haley press conference

Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina just held a press conference to update us on Hurricane Matthew. A few times during it she mentioned prayers/praying but at the conclusion she had an army chaplain actually say a prayer. As as transplant I thought this was a bit much but I'm sure most natives were probably fine with it. Does this mean as an agnostic I'm screwed? The hurricane is serious but I'm sure those who take precautions will survive...

Have faith, my son. Stand out in the open where god can see you and pray like crazy.

By now, have the natives asked you what church you go to? That's usually the way people are sorted out down south. I suggest staying in the "I'm not particularly religious" closet, it leaves the door open and keeps them from thinking you might be a godless, Satan worshiping (consistency isn't their strong suit) baby eating atheist.
