Tree falls, narrowly misses statue of Virgin Mary. It's a MIRACLE!!

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (KRIS/CNN) - After a large tree fell during Saturday night’s storm in Texas, the only thing it didn't knock over was a Virgin Mary statue.

The statue is still standing upright, touching the fallen tree.

“I think, I would call it a miracle because I am catholic and I have a lot of faith and I think the good lord was taking care of us and I think she had a lot to do with the tree not falling towards the house,” said Lily Amador, homeowner.

Amador said there's already been people stopping by to see for themselves.

She's now working on getting the tree removed and her fence repaired.

When I was eight and my brother was three, I was sitting with my mom on our front stairs. My brother was on his tricycle on the sidewalk. We had a very large tree at the time.

Without any warning, one of its largest branches fell down. It landed narrowly missing my brother. He was in the V section of the branch when it fell.

My mother, a devout Catholic, never referred to it as a miracle. My brother and I are both atheists. I have five brothers, and he's my best friend. I can't imagine how different my life would have been without him.

The idea that incidents like this are miracles is absurd. That God would use his omnipotence to spare a statue is doubly ridiculous.

And why didn't Gawd just make trees that don't fall over? Be easier than hanging around waiting for it to fall, to make sure it doesn't fall on the house.

Another way to look at it would be that these people are credulous morons.

Plastic flowers, crappy concrete blocks with lights stuck in them, little Chinese made American flags. I intentionally do tacky in my garden, and I couldn't stomach that if I tried.

that looks like - I think - John the Baptist. Will send photo for a slight $19.99 shipping fee - but wait!!! Will include potato chip shaped like the face of Pope Francis for no additional charge (Blessing of such may incur a small fee-see options at website).

Don't think too hard, though, you might strain your brain, which has obviously atrophied from disuse.

But the Virgin Mary statue felt it happening so she prayed to her Son up in heaven just in time for Jebus to tell his Dad to make sure the tree doesn't fall on the statue of Mom.

See? Makes sense.

So if a drunk human destroys your fence, it's covered, but if God did it, you're out of luck.
