Watch it if you intend to quote the Bible.

I ran into this today and thought it was pretty funny:

http://m.dailykos.com/story/2010/03/25/850561/-An-Open-Letter-to-Dr-Laura-Schlesinger?detail=emailclassic

In her radio show, Dr. Laura Schlesinger (a popular conservative radio talk show host in the USA) said that homosexuality is an abomination according to the Bible Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, and was attributed to a James M. Kauffman, Ed. D.

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God’s Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination… end of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God’s Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21 . In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

Actually, you would probably find more compassion and humanity in a Stephen Kind horror novel than the Bible. Stephen King is probably also vastly more entertaining.

If you have ever tried to read the Bible, it is a challenge. It doesn't exactly hold your attention.

NO ONE would believe that of bread or cake....right?

I have had some magic brownies that did things brownies never did before.

But I prefer cake too. Eating a person sounds like something I will only do if I have to.

Which is why it's ridiculous to claim someone is or isn't a Real christian.

I do like how he threw it back at her:

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual unseemliness – Lev. 15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.

It's a beautiful and inspirational work of art.
