http://metro.co.uk/2015/03/17/oklahoma-is-banning-atheists-from-getting-married-5107328/In what has been described as a not-so-covert attack on gay marriage, a bill banning non-religious people from marrying and requiring all marriage licences be approved by a member of the clergy has been passed in Oklahoma.
The bill, which was approved by the Oklahoma state House last week and will now go to the state Senate for consideration, would restrict marriage only to people of faith.

(18,219 posts)but apparently they have not thought this through. All LGBT's are not atheists, and all atheists are not LGBT's. So they would stop me from getting married as well, because I am sure that no clergy would "bless" me.
There is no level too low for them to stoop. They bitch about unwed mothers, and sex outside of marriage, and the demise of the "family", yet they are willing to stop marriages---and yes, many marriages of heterosexuals as well. I would believe that they were more religious if they would have banned divorce.
