In the religion group there are those who treat us like we are some kind extreme outliers. Yet when a religion thread lands in GD the overwhelming response is that religion is at best outdated and useless.

the hostility toward religion seems to go way beyond what the defenders of religious privilege encounter in the Religion group too.

People are sick of it, and momentum continues to grow.

When I see a religion thread in GD, people just pile on to trash religion. It's very encouraging.

But at the same time, there are a lot of ... strange people on DU that seem to trash just about anything they see.

You could start a thread claiming that water is wet, and at least 3 people would disagree and flame you about it.

and who is most religious and who is not a "real" Christian, the more they will alienate the majority. The more they cry about religious persecution while persecuting those who do not believe as they to, the more they will alienate the majority.

And the longer this goes on, and grows, without God striking them with a bolt of lightning for how they have perverted religion, the more people will turn away from belief. This is what I have been seeing.
