Pope Francis 'truly sorry' for telling Catholics not to 'breed like rabbits'

04 February 2015 18:10 by Hannah Roberts in Rome
The Pope has said that he is “truly sorry” for offending large families by saying that there was no need for Catholics to breed “like rabbits”.

So, just to get this straight, Pope OkToSlapPeopleAndSpankKids* walked back his admonition to his flock to "not breed like rabbits" and now says that they should "breed like rabbits".

Is it offensive when the pope says his flock breed like rabbits? Is it offensive to quote the pope saying that his flock breeds like rabbits? No. What is offensive is that the pope is telling catholics that they should breed like rabbits. That is offensive, not the phrase "breed like rabbits".

* dear jury - the pope has recently stated it is ok to slap people who offend you too much and that it is ok to spank your kids. Look it up.

who tried to argue that he didn't use the word "breed", so he obviously didn't mean that. Of course, when they were asked exactly what he DID mean, when talking about rabbits in the context of a screed about birth control and reproduction, they got the usual deer in thre headlights look and then skittered away without answering, in typical fashion.
