the point of religion was to provide answers.

Guess not, unless the answer is, "Beats the shit out of me. Here comes the collection basket."

Yay, religion.

Religion is useful and necessary and wonderful because it provides answers.

Or so it's said.

Yes there is. There most definitely IS an answer.

If you answer "Because god is not there" all the mystery and confusion clears up!

Oh, and she ain't "the only one" who's put forth such a question.

"If you don’t learn how to cry, you can’t be good Christians."

Well, that makes me feel better.

I'm pretty sure some people from The Other Group were commenting.

The Bible sez God gave us free will and promised not to interfere in our choices...

Well, except when God threw a tantrum and drowned the whole world. Or nuked Sodom & Gomorrah. Or had the Amalekites slaughtered down to the last chicken, for occupying the wrong piece of real estate. Or "hardened the heart" of a Pharaoh, so all the Egyptian first-born kids ended up dead. Etc. etc.

Yep, some major non-interference in those stories.

At least one commenter did the usual Loving Xian thing and threatened the dissidents with eternal torture. To which another commenter said: "I'd take Hell over spending eternity with the likes of you."

Atheist Amen!
