http://americablog.com/2014/08/catholic-episcopal-leaders-liberia-blame-gays-ebola.htmlSpecifically, Archbishop of the Catholic Church of Liberia, Lewis Zeigler, and other church leaders came up with the notion that God is punishing Liberia for being too gay.
But theyre hoping that three days of fasting will help God get over his retributive homophobia.

And the rubes are still suckered by it. You'd think that around the thousandth time some religious huckster goes off blaming this disease, or that natural disaster, on their cultural scapegoat of choice, that people would realize it's both bogus and morally bankrupt.
But no.

(48,181 posts)We should be celebrating this opening up to non-penetrative homosexualism. Frottaging homosexualism is a-ok with god now!
Instead you bitter angry atheists are shamefully exploiting this horrible disease to take cheap shots at religion.
OFFS: this is not serious.

I expect "Papa Frank" will be recalling the Archbishop any minute now....

(7,886 posts)But there's no one to recall the Episcopalian guy, and they are the "good" ones...

(19,964 posts)We all know no one will be recalled, anyway. I'm rather surprised at the Episcopalians, though ... usually it's the Anglicans in league with the Bishops (like in Uganda with their hateful laws) but who can keep score anymore? Or are Episcopalians really Anglicans? It's all so confusing.

(19,964 posts)Day after day after bloody day. Over there, gays get blamed for disease, here they get blamed for hurricanes and tornadoes. Everywhere, some are being beaten, imprisoned, fired, killed, committing suicide, made homeless, because God wills it. But what do I know? I'm just a "hater".

A longtime music director at Holy Family Catholic Church in Inverness said he was fired from his job this week after he announced that he was engaged to his male partner...
...This has not been a secret, said Collette, who held the job at Holy Family for 17 years. My partner has read for the church at Mass. We have been living together for five years.
...After returning to town, Collette headed worship for weekend Masses before being called into the pastors office Sunday night, he said.
Collette said the pastor, the Rev. Terry Keehan, told him: I know that this is something that youve wanted for a long time. I said, Yeah, I think this is what everyone wants, to be happy and be loved. He said, In light of that, I would be happy to receive your resignation.

Is that "-ism" like a religion...y'know like "Hinduism"?
Or is it more of a politico-social thing like Socialism?
Or is it like "scientism"....an "-ism" that doesn't really exist?
(Religious and woo people sure make up a lot of words!)

(18,219 posts)why God punishes so many innocent people when he gets mad at a particular group. Kills so many heterosexuals and God-fearing Christians because he is mad at gays? Why doesn't he just wipe all the gays off the face of the earth? I mean right now, just do it.
I suppose this is a question best asked of people who know more about God than atheists. Sorry for the rant.
