1. Um, who says

that we worship the devil on Halloween? If I remember correctly, all these rituals are meant to ward off demons. Warding off demons doesn't sound like something the devil would be involved in, does it?

But the facts should never get in the way for Christians.

2. Back in my church going days the pastor said to the congregation

"We don't celebrate Halloween, because that's the devil's holiday."

My husband and I took our Children trick or treating later that week. Neither God nor the Devil had much to say about it, as I recall, and the candy was good.

.....because they think people are openly professing to worship Satan or because they realize that's it making fun of the nuttier fringe of their contingent who actually believe that Halloween has something to do with devil worship?
