You're right, calling it a crime in order to protest the anti-blasphemy laws doesn't help. SecularMotion Oct 2013 #9

People should also be aware that the current push by the religious right in the US for "religious liberty" is creeping anti-blasphemy.

Anti-blasphemy laws exist throughout the world. In many parts of Europe and North America they have been overturned, although there are anti-blasphemy laws in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Iceland, San Marino, Spain and the UK. (The UK common law offences of blasphemy and blasphemous libel were abolished by the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008, section 79. The remaining law, Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006, concerns inciting hatred against a person on the grounds of their religion.) There are also "religious insult" laws in 21 European nations.

Please take the time to read this commentary on the threat of "religious protections"

but to put "crime" in front of "blasphemy" does not help. That just perpetrates the meme. One can only hope the US courts will stop the nonsense but I am not sure how the USSC will see this issue considering the likes of Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, Alito, and at times Kennedy . This is an issue worth fighting for in this country, can't say I would risk arrest in a foreign country.

The problem in this country is the conservative movement has gone radical. The only hope is people will wake up and start voting against these asshats but that might be a pipe dream. I say that because I live in Ohio and the voters here flip flop like fish out of water. For some reason voters have very short memories but the news media might have something to do with that.

I have no one but love to blame Jesus Christ for missing all this.

I will call his name out, hope that makes me known among the blasphemers!

Never should we miss these moments in the world, so many curses we all know and could say, most of them tought to us by the religious folks.

Jesus!
