He or she seemed so genuinely curious....

(6,261 posts)I don't think anything happened. I suspect he was a Zombie troll from the past but I got no troll vibe from his posts. Must have form though, I imagine...

(468 posts)Celador started it with a misleading title which immediately gave me a bad impression. The responses weren't impolite but it just felt like a fishing expedition. What the individual was seeking I'm not sure but I didn't put much more thought into it beyond deciding not to respond.

and all the messages were removed before I saw some of them so I just wondered if it was something he said there or was he causing trouble elsewhere..
I admit I am often leery of brand new people asking some questions but I still usually will answer if it is something I'm interested in and then just let them out themselves if they were here under false pretenses. I don't feel bad about honestly answering a question even if it later turns out the guy was a rat. Ratness is on him, not me.

(6,452 posts)But we have a frequent-flyer troll that has a posting pattern that often starts here in A&A and/or over in Religion. MIRT has a pretty good dossier on the guy, and the Admin team has been able to get IP checks (at least that's how I read it - they don't tell us for sure) that match.
If it's the one I'm thinking of, he's been caught sending some pretty creepy PM's to female DUers, and stalks various posters around DU. Overall a really weird and disruptive dude.

(6,261 posts)I still had the post up in an old tab so I was able to click on the username and see his transparancy page. Seems he wasn't entirely honest with us in A&A:

(12,160 posts)republicans, didn't get that DU is for Dems and other liberals, not for republicans.
S/he also didn't get that the Atheists & Agnostics Group is for atheists and agnostics, not for Christians who are itching for a chance to put us on the path to Salvation.
