Just in time for the holidays, Lego's new "Women of NASA" set is now on sale. And among the four female space pioneers in the set is Alabama's own Mae Jemison, an astronaut, physicist, engineer and the first black woman in space.

Jemison, who was born in Decatur, is teamed with first woman in space Sally Ride and a space shuttle. The other history-making NASA women in the new release are astronomer Nancy Grace Roman and computer scientist Margaret Hamilton.

Maia Weinstock, a deputy editor at MIT News, submitted the idea for the set to the Lego community 2016, which can vote for its favorites. The idea quickly got the 10,000 votes needed to earn an official Lego review, and the rest is history. Weinstock will get 1 percent of the sales and licensing revenue for her idea.
