1. Has Jupiter come around that far now?

I was out last night (as I am every night). I see that Venus and Mars are not that far apart.

My favorite app for moonrise and sunrise is Planetarium, for Palm OS devices. I have it on my two Sony CLIÉ PEG-SJ22s. I try not to go anywhere without them. I ask at every yard sale if there are any PDAs for sale.

I have the Sky & Telescope SkyWeek app installed on my tablets.

• Now Saturn, bright Venus, and Antares straighten out into a nearly vertical line, as shown at right.

Friday, October 28

• The low twilight lineup of Saturn, Venus, and Antares in the southwest now begins to bend the other way, as Venus moves east.

2. The planets this spring and summer....

..... have been spectacular!

Discussing dawn and dusk reminded me I saw Mercury for the 1st time this late summer. It was easily spotted between Venus and Jupiter at sunset earlier this year. Now I've seen all the planets visible to the naked eye. (Tho' I was also using binoculars and a telescope)

What will fall and winter hold for us?

Oh that's right.... we know where things will be when.... Ahhhhh...science and math.....
