That I heard somewhere, stated you should use triple antibiotic ointment plus an antifungal ointment. Apparently the necrosis takes place because fungus and bacteria are working together.

If I find any fang marks I start with both ointments from the get go.

Spider bites look like two little holes---- :

Little bastids.

Cleaning out an old office. Crawled up my pants leg. Bit me on the inner thigh.

Triple AB ointment would be like trying to put out a 5 alarm fire with a water gun.

By the next morning (I didn't go to the doctor because I thought it was just an ugly spider) I had ugly black spot about the size of a half dollar with nasty green lines shooting down to my foot and up to my groin and stomach.

They put me on an IV with 2-3 types of antibiotics (plus oral AB) as I was just a couple hours from having septic shock and dying.

I was in the hospital for a solid week.

It's a BAD deal.

That is horrible. I worked with a woman who had a bite on her ankle. I caught a whiff of necrosis when I got close one time. I don't know if her wound ever closed.

She probably needed treatment like yours!

...at least in my area. God damned godless brown recluse. Every year I look them up to be sure I can correctly identify them.

I violated every single one of them when I cleaned out my sister's house after she died.

The house was pretty much disused for a year, very dusty and spiderwebs everywhere.

I set off probably 20 bug bombs in there the week before I came and cleaned it out. Two in every room, 4 in the garage. I just turned off the hot water heater so the place didn't blow up.

Then we came back and opened drawers and every cabinet and nuked it again.
