(Jewish Group) 'Shoot the Jews': How Sweden's Jews Just Became Key Targets for Violent Muslim Anger

(THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP! RESPECT!!)

When Molotov cocktails, or similar improvised weapons, were hurled at the synagogue in the Swedish city of Gothenburg Saturday evening, while Jewish youths had a party in the adjacent community center, it was shocking - but not surprising.

The burning of the Israeli flag near the U.S. and Israeli embassies in Stockholm earlier the same day was shocking - but not surprising.

The demonstrations in central Malmö on Thursday and Friday, where chants like "We're going to shoot the Jews" were shouted in Arabic, were shocking but not surprising.

It is mindboggling that, in 2017, a group of 200 people can gather in a public square in Sweden (Sweden!) and shout their intention to kill Jews, apparently without fear of reproach.

It's also reprehensible that the incident would likely even have gone unnoticed were it not for a report by a single local journalist, apparently the only one with enough nous to sense that a protest against a U.S. president’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel could lead to incitement against Jews in Sweden.

I am not surprised by any of this (this is also happening in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, and other European cities), anymore than I am surprised by people making excuses for this bullshit. I am also unsurprised by the fact most major media sources are completely ignoring it.

I read an interview with the Swedish actor, Kim Bosnia, who is Jewish. He co-starred in the first two seasons of the Swedish-Danish crime drama The Bridge (which you can watch on Hulu). He said one of the main reasons he left the show was because the location was in Malmo where all the filming was done and that he personally felt unsafe there.

Europe has been a hotbed for Jewish hatred for a long time.

Centuries-old violent anti-semitism is harder to blame on events since 1967.

His moving the embassy is deliberately designed to bait people into violence and stoke the fires of hatred. Everything he does is meant to bring out the worst in people.

The only problem I have with the embassy announcement is Obama didn't do it 9 years ago.

The usual suspect will riot and kill, no matter what.

And, candidly, this is a big nothing. The seat of government in Israel IS Jerusalem. The Knesset is there. The PM is there. The executive branch arms are there. The courts are there. And it's been that way since the British were there and there was a interim government. Not a new phenomena.

Our ambassador already spent most of his time at the consulate in Jerusalem because his job was to talk with the Israeli government -- which is in Jerusalem.

Sometimes you just have to take a band aid off fast and get it over with.

and shows clear support for one side of the conflict. I don't see how anything is going to get better over there, only worse.

Indeed, the usual suspects are way too easy to provoke. In liberal Sweden of all places.

But just because Trump is for it does not mean it is bad.

Probably bad, yes. But not necessarily.

I kind of like the Moon/Mars shot, too, for example.

Maybe it's my age and my experience in Congress (where I was a LONG time employee, not a representative), but, not that long ago, the parties (and really everyone) agreed on about 90% of the real work in Congress -- roads, most things military, police, whatever.

It was largely non-political political stuff.

Sure, there were hot button issues, but most stuff, not so much. And you spend THE OVERWHELMING bulk of your time on the "most stuff."

Trump can now make our side oppose things simply by being in favor of them.

It's reflexive. And stupid. And will backfire against us in the next election.
