Deliman, the movie

What a delightful movie. The history of the delis in New York - of course. Interviewing known Jews who tell from their experience. Delis as the center of the new Jeiwsh communities. Modern deli men who are second and third generation deli men. Hugh sandwiches. Stuffed cabbage. Matzo balls and Matzo balls soup.

There were 1500 delis in New York in the 30s, now there are 150 nationwide. Of the three remaining in New York, we've eaten at Katz and Carnegie Deli. Also at Manny in Chicago.
