Archie Gottesman and Stacy Stuart Launch JewBelong a Multi-Media Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, June 2021

JUNE 2021 CAMPAIGN LAUNCH, ..( they're returning in 2022 with Fla & US /Canada cities with Billboards Campaigns)

Known for their witty humor and thought-provoking advertising campaigns, JewBelong was created to welcome and inspire Jewish people (and those who love them) who find themselves disengaged from Judaism, whether they drifted away from the religion, or simply never got much of a Jewish education

The campaign makes a powerful statement about the rise of antisemitism in the U.S. JewBelong is proud that their name has included the word belong since their inception. JewBelong balances tradition with inclusion by highlighting the love and values at the core of the religion.
It starts with 750 somewhat tongue in cheek digital ads running across Manhattan that say, “Here’s an idea: Let’s ask everyone who’s wondering if antisemitism is real to wear a yarmulke for a week and then report back.”

Will read for substance later.

(Anyone notice that good, nice, conscious talking heads say 'Jewish people?')

And there's nothing inherently offensive about the word "Jew." It's what they call themselves (so I'm told), and it's not, in itself, a slur, despite some trying to turn it into one.

It'll see some positive changes I believe, but only in time, as open conversation against the triggred hate becomes the norm.

One billboard at a time.

"Jew" as a word is not inherently anti-Semitic. It is correct to say; "I am a Jew. She is a Jew. They are Jews.". It is also OK to replace "a Jew" or "Jews" with "Jewish." The problem comes in when people use Jew as an adjective or verb: "The Jew boy is cute." or "I bought a new car and he jewed me on the price." Both examples are anti-Semitic, though the former is sometimes used out of ignorance and not malice. Sometimes, even the verb form is used out of ignorance and not malice, but most will recognize it is probably problematic.

Frankly, the biggest "Jew" problem I see today, and it is a problem among the left, including some here, is the lack of or outright refusal to capitalize "Jew". Sometimes, I think it is just lazy proof-reading, but there are times where it is obvious the reason for the lowercase "j" is very obvious, and it is to use the diminutive as a dog-whistle insult.

And I was at the site Jewcy.com. My wife walked by the room and made some snide comment I didn't understand at the time. Apparently she thought it was some type of porn site, I didn't realize this until later, so I never explained the name to her. Oh well.

They couldn't have timed it any better either!

Anxious to see their billboards in Ottowa.
Hope they hurry, for Canada right now.
So many fires to put out everywhere.
