Lawmaker: teacher raises against "biblical principle" (Jesus's own mother called him Teacher)

Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher.
Hm. So this lawmaker in Alabama opposes pay hikes for teachers because of "biblical principle."
Would he oppose a pay raise for Jesus, whose own mother called him Teacher?
