I am researching my family tree and a grandpa several greats removed

had a ton of kids back about 1690 and had a number of sons trained to be priests or whatever they are called in the Moravian Church. They lived in Germany before some of them immigrated. Does anyone know about this denomination? I am leery of conformity but it appears that this church is sort of different than the usual dogmatic types. Thanks.

It was a total surprise to find Germans in that branch. Apparently they came to America via the Isle of Man. I find that totally awesome.

There's Moravian College there & a few Moravian churches in the Lehigh Valley. From what I know they're pretty similar to the Lutheran church.

The Moravians were the first "Protestants", with a very interesting history.

The Moravians founded Bethlehem PA and Salem NC (now W-S). The Moravians had a strong influence on John Wesley and Methodism.
