The Light of Christ. It illuminates but also burns.

His is underived Light that kindles lamps--us.

'The Word was with God', and that Word was the Agent of Creation, the Fountain of Life, the Source of the Light which is inseparable from all human life.

[Bible Commentary]

John 8:12:
Jesus, The Light Of The World

12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."

Someone once counseled that when one receives trouble, one then asks for deliverance. One experiences peace and invincibility. Then the aspect of the trouble manifests itself again. Once more, after 'coming against it in petition', it retreats. The enemy of our souls comes at us, but then God raises up a standard against him. We will finally receive His resolution.
