Eastern Orthodox Forty Days of the Pascha of Our Lord

'Christ is risen from the dead,
trampling down death by death,
and upon those in the tombs bestowing life!'

Day without evening:

To the Orthodox, the celebration of Pascha reveals the mystery of the eighth day. It is not merely an historical reenactment of the event of Christ's Resurrection. It is a way to experience the new creation of the world, a taste of the new and unending day of the Kingdom of God.

This new day is conveyed to the faithful in the length of the paschal services, in the repetition of the paschal order for all the services of Bright Week, and in the special paschal features retained in the services for the forty days until Ascension. Forty days are, as it were, treated as one day.

Yes, my Faith sustains me, but I'm still in the 'flesh'. I get so weary physically attempting to keep up with my side of things, plus his, and the legal and financial aspects that take pieces of me.

I appreciate you holding me in your thoughts.

Then you prioritize - which item is necessary for living, which item is something important enough to you that you will drop something else you (or your spouse) considered important in order to continue doing.
You will acknowledge your humanity, which includes in all of us a certain amount of frailty.
No rush, take whatever time you need to sort it all out.

I'm sure you realize this, but you are blessed in your deep faith, a buttress against the strong winds blowing on you at this time.
Blessings for this day and those to come.....

I found one site where posters are feeling exactly everything I am. One entry is so spot on and in an expressive writing that I could not.

Another site I read where you may experience a 'complicated' grief. This also describes me.

Some people around me offer advice of seeking out a group or individual counsel. I choose not to at this point in time. When I get things done/taken care of, I feel better. The loss is still there, but I feel like I'm progressing some.

I have my fur daughter and she and me is priority one!

I need to balance my reception of the depressing news every single day regarding you-know-who and those of his ilk. I believe in my heart of hearts that Our Divine Advocate, The Comforter and Spirit of Truth, Who is everywhere present and fills all things will soon right the wrongs according to His Wisdom.
