Thank you for the beautiful picture, femmocrat! We Orthodox Christians are a minority in this group, as we are in this country. It's nice to meet another one, even if it only online.

3. One of my great-grandfathers was an R.O. priest

He was a professor of theology at the University of Tartu in Estonia.
My mother was raised mostly as Russian Orthodox though her own mother was Lutheran.
(I was raised Lutheran but have been a Unitarian Universaist pagan for many years)

When I was about 20, she took me to an R.O. Easter eve service once at my request.
It was one of the most beautiful religious services I've ever seen, with everyone circling the church carrying pussy-willow branches while the priest and assistants waved big censers of incense and sprinkled us with holy water.

Happy Easter to all Orthodox believers who celebrate today!
