MIDLOTHIAN, VA (WWBT) - More than a million Virginia students are back in school, and settling in to their classroom routines. However, thousands of students are not.

That's because the state has granted them religious exemptions.

One group says the statute needs to be reviewed because it could possibly be a growing problem.

Sharon Pond's home also serves as a classroom for her three children.

is to require the same standard and monitoring for religious exemption as any other home school program. This type of problem is not uncommon in state regulations passed by part time legislators.

2. You're right, if their purpose is not political pandering.

These statutes can be made to carry out their stated purpose when they don't use religious issues as political footballs.

might happen next year with a possible Gov Cuchenelli(sp) our current AG. Too many people just don't pay attention to what this guy says and does. He makes the current Gov seem like a reasonable man.
