Reading University's Atheist Society 'Thrown Out Of Fair Over Blasphemous Mohammed Pineapple'

A group of atheist students claim they were kicked out of their university's fresher fair because of a "blasphemous pineapple".

The Reading University Atheist, Humanist and Secularist Society (RAHS) took part in the fair on Wednesday, in order to promote their upcoming debate "Should we respect religion?".

According to the society, they displayed a pineapple bearing the name Mohammed on their stall, to "encourage discussion about blasphemy, religion, and liberty".

"We wanted to celebrate the fact that we live in a country in which free speech is protected, and where it is lawful to call a pineapple by whatever name one chooses," a society spokesperson said.

Topic: Should we respect Religions?
Come and discuss: Do we have a right to draw offensive cartoons? Do faith leaders represent communities? Is secularism disrespectful? and more.

Sounds like they can discuss this very incident. An additional question may be, what kind of responses should one anticipate if the answer to the respect question is "No"?
